Water-soluble stabilizer
This stabilizer can be useful in giving firm backing to lacework or freestanding embroidery and then dissolved without harming your delicate work
There is a tendency for the residue from the water-soluble stabilizer to remain in the embroidered piece making the piece stiff and inflexible. This may be what you want if you are making doily or lace segments for a bowl and you need the rigidity. Otherwise, you need to rinse as much of the stabilizer away as possible.
How to rinse out water-soluble stabilizer:
- Cut as much of the stabilizer as you can from the embroidered piece.
- Rinse several times to remove the bulk of the stabilizer.
- Soak the piece overnight in clean water. Repeat, if necessary.
- Manipulate the wet piece until it is back in shape then dry flat.
We charge a flat rate of $17.00 except for 100cm x 100m backing rolls. We increase the flat rate without notifying our customers when Australia Post increases postage charges
Most of our orders weigh 1 – 3kg and our flat rate is based on what Australia Post charges us for 1 – 3kg.
We refund the difference if the freight costs less than the flat rate.
If it is safe to do so and if you give us an instruction to leave goods at your door or somewhere safe (preferably where it is not visible from the street), we have options to find the best freight cost rate (either Courier or Post service).
